Taylen Green is feeling at home these days, so much so that the meaning of “home” can mean multiple things.
Green, a former Arkansas Razorbacks quarterback, was at Little Rock Air Force Base in Jacksonville Monday, hosting a football camp for the children of active duty officers, military retirees and Department of Defense civilian employees. Green spoke to the campers, signed autographs and helped take the kids through drills on football fundamentals.
Life in 2026 has been on fast-forward for Green. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the sixth round of the NFL Draft, then married Analisse Batista, a member of the Arkansas track team, in June. It all capped a two-year run as the Razorbacks’ starting quarterback, one that began with the Texas native transferring to Arkansas from Boise State.
“I walk around, and I have my Arkansas gear on, and I could be in Cleveland or the NFL combine, and I’m getting, ‘Go Hogs,’ all the time, throughout the hallways and stuff,” Green said.
Green enjoyed being on the base Monday, with one of the first things he mentioned to the campers being that he has military members in his family.
“My uncle was in the military and has a background in it,” Green said. “He unfortunately just passed away, but he was in the Vietnam War and everything. I remember I was in elementary school, and they were having military appreciation day, and I was walking with him throughout the halls. It was a pretty cool experience.”
At the end of July, Green will depart for Cleveland and his first NFL training camp.
“I literally just got off my honeymoon,” Green said. “It’s a busy summer, but that’s okay, though. I’m just going to go back home and train and get ready for the preseason.”
