Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard, P.L.L.C. has named Shealyn Sowers as its new marketing director.
Based in the firm’s Little Rock office, Sowers will oversee marketing, communications and public relations efforts for the law firm. She will work with attorneys, practice group leaders and firm leadership on brand visibility, business development and strategic growth initiatives.
Sowers brings more than 14 years of experience in journalism, strategic communications, public relations and marketing to the role. Most recently, she served as an account supervisor at Ghidotti Communications, where she oversaw campaign strategy and execution for clients and helped lead the agency’s media relations team.
Her previous experience includes serving as communications director and spokesperson for former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, as well as senior communications positions with the Arkansas Department of Agriculture and the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism.
Sowers also spent 10 years in television news at KARK and FOX16 in Little Rock. During her broadcast journalism career, she earned multiple honors, including an Emmy Award for Best Producer, an Emmy Award for Best Newscast and an Edward R. Murrow Award for Outstanding Journalism.

A native of Clinton, Arkansas, Sowers earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ouachita Baptist University and a broadcast journalism degree from the University of Central Arkansas.
She currently serves as vice president of the Arkansas chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, on the Downtown Little Rock Partnership Board of Directors and on the Clinton High School Alumni Association. She is also an alumna of Leadership Arkansas, a program of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce.
