The U.S. Internal Revenue Service announced April 14 that Arkansans are getting a break on their income taxes – sort of.
The IRS announced that the entire state, which was declared a federal disaster resulting from severe storms on April 2, has been granted an extension to the deadline for filing one’s taxes, normally due today, April 15. The extension stretches the deadline to Nov. 3, 2025.

At the state level, Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced on April 12 that for most counties the deadline for filing and paying state income taxes has been extended to July 31, 2025. The counties not included in the order are Benton, Boone, Bradley, Carroll, Cleburne, Howard, Johnson, Logan, Madison, Monroe, Washington and Yell.
