SOMA’s Community Bakery is going solar this fall.
Community Bakery is partnering with Seal Energy Solutions, an Argenta-based solar specialist, to install a solar array at the company’s Main Street location.
Seal Energy Solutions has designed a 102-panel, which will produce 350 Watts per panel, for Community Bakery. The system will have a 30-year warranty.
The bakery is using the Arkansas Rehabilitation Tax Credit to help with the project costs. In addition, Seal Energy Systems has also provided assistance by pulling together incentives, ranging from a Solar Investment Tax Credit to depreciation incentives.
Founded in 1974, Community Bakery has moved several times during its existence. The original store was in North Little Rock but was moved to a store near 14thand Main Streets in Little Rock during the 1950s. In 1993, Community Bakery was moved to the historic Cohn building on 12thand Main Streets.
