Thirty-Eight Appointments for State Boards Announced

Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced thirty-eight appointments for state agencies and boards today

The appointments, which include new appointees and individuals reappointed to the same positions, range across 13 different state boards and other entities.

The Arkansas Humanities Council had the largest number of appointments at six. Of this number, five were new appointments. The Board of Electrical Examiners of the State of Arkansas was close behind with five appointments. Four of these positions were reappointments.

Both the State Board of Health and the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling had four appointments. While all of the State Board of Health positions were reappointments, there were three reappointments for the Board of Examiners in Counseling.

The Arkansas Fair Housing Commission and the State Board of License for Professional Engineers and Surveyors had three appointments each, and the Oil and Gas Commission and the Arkansas Veterans’ Commission each had two appointments.

Clay Waliski, Carlisle, to the State Board of Health. Appointment expires December 31, 2021. Replaces Mary Ringgold.

Stephanie Nickols, Mount Ida, to the State Board of Health. Appointment expires December 31, 2021. Replaces Robbie Thomas-Knight.

Dr. Dwayne Daniels, El Dorado, to the State Board of Health. Appointment expires December 31, 2020. Replaces Lawrence Braden.

Dr. Melissa Faulkenberry, Little Rock, to the State Board of Health. Appointment expires December 31, 2021. Replaces Dr. Greg Ungerank.

Dr. Anthony Turchi, Fayetteville, to the Veterinary Medical Examining Board. Appointment expires March 1, 2024. Reappointment.

John Dyess, Yellville, as a Special County Judge in the County Court of Marion County, Arkansas. Marion County Court Case No. 2019-001. Replaces Marion County Judge John Massey, who has disqualified himself from the case.

Sydney Westbrook, Texarkana, to the Arkansas Humanities Council. Appointment expires December 31, 2021. Replaces Linda Tabor.

Kaylin Mason, Fayetteville, to the Arkansas Humanities Council. Appointment expires December 31, 2021. Replaces Jamie Darling.

Dr. Rachel Miller, Little Rock, to the Arkansas Humanities Council. Appointment expires December 31, 2021. Replaces Barbara Moody.

Leatrice Russ-Glenns, Little Rock, to the Arkansas Humanities Council. Appointment expires December 31, 2020. Replaces Wanda Roe.

Jim Metzger, Little Rock, to the Arkansas Humanities Council. Appointment expires December 31, 2019. Replaces Marlane Stakemiller.

Kim Coryat, Little Rock, to the Arkansas Humanities Council. Appointment expires December 31, 2021. Replaces Judy Tenebaum.

Diana Reggans, Malvern, to the Board of Trustees of College of the Ouachitas. Appointment expires July 1, 2026. Reappointment.

Paul Mlakar, Alma, to the Arkansas Veterans’ Commission. Appointment expires October 15, 2021. Replaces Troy Galloway.

Pamela Boyd Shields, Little Rock, to the Arkansas Veterans’ Commission. Appointment expires October 15, 2021. Replaces Margaret Wolf.

Wendy Blackwood, Conway, to the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling. Appointment expires December 1, 2020. Replaces Lenora Erickson.

Dr. Suzanne Casey, Searcy, to the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling. Appointment expires December 31, 2021.  Reappointment.

Robbie Cline, Jonesboro, to the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling. Appointment expires December 31, 2021. Reappointment.

Dr. Justin Moore, Searcy, to the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling. Appointment expires December 31, 2021. Reappointment.

Steven Blackwood, Little Rock, to the Arkansas Fair Housing Commission. Appointment expires December 31, 2022. Replaces Rebecca Finney.

Derek Mack, Jacksonville, to the Arkansas Fair Housing Commission. Appointment expires December 31, 2020. Replaces Stephen Donnelly.

Tanya Mims, Springdale, to the Arkansas Fair Housing Commission. Appointment expires December 31, 2022. Replaces Sean Williams.

Dr. Delia Haak, Gentry, to the Arkansas Pollution Control and Ecology Commission. Appointment expires March 29, 2023. Replaces Wesley Stites.

Ricky Roper, Warren, to the Arkansas Pollution Control and Ecology Commission. Appointment expires March 29, 2023. New Position.

Ed Carrington, Pine Bluff, to the Board of Electrical Examiners of the State of Arkansas. Appointment expires June 15, 2023. Reappointment.

Mike Hocutt, Little Rock, to the Board of Electrical Examiners of the State of Arkansas. Appointment expires June 15, 2020. Replaces Robert Unwer.

Richard Hopwood, Springdale, to the Board of Electrical Examiners of the State of Arkansas.  Appointment expires June 15, 2023. Reappointment.

Scott Polston, Cave City, to the Board of Electrical Examiners of the State of Arkansas.  Appointment expires June 15, 2023. Reappointment.
