Razorback coaches in all sports except football have been given the OK to schedule the University of Central Arkansas and Arkansas State University, Hunter Yurachek told Whole Hog Sports on Friday.
The move comes as college athletic departments across the country look for ways to reduce travel costs and limit commercial air travel by scheduling more regional teams in the age of coronavirus.
The University of Arkansas athletic director previously had lifted the school’s long-standing policy of not playing in-state schools by allowing Razorback teams to schedule fellow UA system schools in all sports.
Yurachek told writer Bob Holt that no plans currently exist to schedule Arkansas State or UCA in football.
