A new associate director of executive education has been named for the Sam M. Walton College of Business in Little Rock.
Shannon Heard has been tapped for the role, in which she will oversee the Walton College’s executive education programs at its outpost on 2nd and Main Streets in downtown Little Rock.
Heard was the founding manager of program design for the University of Arkansas’ Arkansas Academy for Educational Equity. In this role, she oversaw the operations, budgets and event planning for the initiative. She previously served as the residency program coordinator for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ family medicine department.
“Shannon’s experience with adult learners and working professionals will be invaluable to executive education,” Blythe Eggleston, director of executive education at Walton College, said in a statement. “With her expertise, we will continue our work developing relevant and impactful programs for Arkansas organizations and individuals who want to grow their skills.”
She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and music from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn., as well as an M.B.A from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
