The Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas will be introducing a new master’s degree in fall 2020.
Applications are currently being accepted for the college’s new Master of Science degree in finance. This degree program is a 30-credit-hour, full-time program that is designed to prepare students “to be effective financial managers and provides students with cross-functional expertise and focus,” according to a U of A news release.
Students will also be allowed to specialize in one of four concentrations. These concentrations include energy finance and risk management, finance and business analytics, finance and digital technology, and finance and supply chain management.
“The financial industry is becoming increasingly sophisticated and digital,” Matt Waller, dean of the Walton College and holder of the Sam M. Walton Leadership Chair in Business, said in a statement. “It requires analysis of massive amounts of data for easy-to-understand reports and decision-making. We blend energy finance, risk management, analytics, digital technology and supply chain management to create value-added skillsets needed by businesses.”
For the fall 2020 admissions process, the Walton College’s Graduate School of Business will be waiving its GMAT/GRE requirementand will be allowed to conduct an interview as part of the admissions review.
