The Venture Center is launching a new mentorship program that is aimed at impacting the professional community in Central Arkansas. According to a Venture Center press release, the purpose of the program is to provide a “curated experience” for a select group of mentors and protégés.
Wayne Miller, Executive Director for the Venture Center, says the mentorship program is a vital part of growing an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Arkansas.
“For the past three years, our mentor’s passion for guiding talent is what has made our programs a success,” Wayne Miller, Executive Director said. “They have dedicated their time and invested their support in our community as professionals seek growth in their entrepreneurial pursuits. We can accomplish nothing without the collaboration of our most treasured community partners, which is why we are thrilled to announce our new Mentorship Program, offering a more meaningful engagement for our mentors and protégés.”
The program is designed to provide a base for creating relationships and improving networking skills for mentees. Also, the mentors can provide insights to mentees that can aid in career growth and in avoiding pitfalls.
For the inaugural class of the program, 20 mentors and protégés will be selected to participate. After attending an orientation and a Mentor March Day, mentors and protégés will interact in-person at least once a month and check in with the Venture Center each month. In addition, there will be quarterly meetings and an awards ceremony at the end of the program.
The application period for mentors protégés is currently open and will run through March 8, 2019. To learn more or to apply for the program, visit the Venture Center’s website.
