The highly-anticipated Breckenridge Village is slowly seeing more traffic as the center has experienced the successful opening of Mt. Fuji, and the successful reopening of Eat My Catfish.
According to Jim Keet of JTJ Restaurants, the redevelopment of Breckenridge Village has been slower than anticipated due to last year’s tornado, and other weather events.
“We were put back about three months due to the tornado, but Keet O’Gary Construction has done a great job of working through these problems,” Keet said. “We have redone any of the damaged areas and put new roofs on three of the areas, as we have done most of the exterior renovation to those three buildings.”
As a work in progress, Keet said the demolition work has been completed in several units, and is underway for others. The highly anticipated openings for Deluca’s, The Root Café and Flyway Brewing are also expected throughout 2024. Waldo’s Chicken & Beer is expected to open by May 1, Deluca’s is on-track to open by mid-August and The Root Café and Flyway Brewing should both be open before the inaugural Simmons Bank Championship – a PGA championship, in October.
“We have a lot of great news coming to the area, and tremendous progress has been made,” Keet said. “Everywhere I go, people have been expressing their excitement about having the prospect of all the restaurants opening. There is a lot of synergy and excitement.”
While the status of the theater has not yet been publicly announced, Keet is confident there will be an update about it in the near future. In the meantime, check back at aymag.com and armoneyandpolitics.com for continual updates on Breckenridge Village.
