United Petfood has agreed to acquire a dry pet food production facility located in Decatur from Wellness Pet Co.
The companies also signed a long-term supply agreement. Terms were not disclosed.
The facility will become Belgium-based United Petfood’s third production site in North America. It already operates facilities in Mishawaka, Indiana, and Drummondville, Quebec, Canada.
“The Decatur site gives us additional capacity and flexibility to respond to our customers’ needs,” said CEO Dries Eeckhout. “It is another important step in strengthening our production footprint across North America. By expanding our local presence, we can combine the advantages of local production with the expertise and capabilities of our international network of pet kitchens, enabling us to continue growing alongside our customers.”
