The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has opened a new comprehensive breast imaging services center at the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute.
Located on the third floor of the cancer institute, the Breast Center provides mammography, ultrasound, image-guided biopsy and other services. The center will also feature a dedicated breast imaging MRI that will be installed later.
The new Breast Center, encompassing 12,000-square feet, contains five mammography rooms, five ultrasound rooms, space for image-guided biopsies, large patient dressing rooms and a waiting area. Previously, the center was housed at the UAMS Outpatient Center.
“We are thrilled to welcome patients to our beautiful new facility. Not only will we continue to offer the outstanding services we always have, but those services will now be coupled with the comforting environment our patients deserve,” Breast Center director Gwendolyn Bryant-Smith, M.D., said in a statement.
The Breast Center has been rated as a Breast Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology.
