A University of Arkansas professor has been named to the National Recreation and Park Association’s Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA).
Merry Moiseichik, who serves as a professor of recreation and sports management, was recently appointed to the commission. Moiseichik will be one of 15 members on the board, and she will represent the Academy of Park and Recreation Administrators.
“I was thrilled and honored to select Merry to the CAPRA Commission for a three-year term, based on her dedication and commitment to educate the parks and recreation profession,” Michael McLarty, executive director of the American Academy for Park Recreation Administration, said in a statement.
According to its website, CAPRA provides the only national accreditation for park and recreation agencies in the United States. The commission “provides quality assurance and quality improvement of accredited park and recreation agencies throughout the United States by providing agencies with a management system of best practices.”
Moiseichik has been a member of the University of Arkansas’ College of Education and Health Professions faculty since 1989. She specializes in community development through recreation and sport.
She is a member of the American Academy of Park and Recreation Administration.
