Tyson Foods Inc. has announced that it is pledging $50 million in cash and in-kind donations over the next five years to fight hunger.
Tyson has had long-standing partnerships with hunger-relief organizations, including Share Our Strength, Feeding America and the Food Research and Action Center, and has donated 100 million pounds of food over the past 15 years.
“We know we can’t solve hunger alone,” Donnie Smith, president and CEO of Tyson Foods, said in a news release. “It’s the organizations and heroes in communities all over the country who are doing the real work. We’re proud to support those who are fighting hunger across the country and shine a spotlight on individuals making a big difference in innovative ways.”

This year marks the 15th anniversary of Tyson’s support through its KNOW Hunger initiative. To reach its milestone of donating 100 million pounds of food, this summer, Tyson delivered 50 truckloads of food (over 2 million pounds) to hunger nonprofits across the nation — the company’s largest single in-kind donation to date.
