Two University of Arkansas faculty members have been recognized for their contributions to the supply chain field. In a paper entitled “Supply Chain Research Leadership: The Ranked Agents And Their Networks,” UA professors Remko Van Hoek and Brian Fugate were singled out for their impact on the field.
Van Hoek is a professor of practice of supply chain management, while Fugate is the department chair, professor and the Oren Harris Chair in Transportation.
The University of Arkansas has been recognized for its supply chain department previously. The U.S. News & World Report ranked the department as the 11thamong similar public business schools in the United States.
Van Hoek is a former executive for the Walt Disney Company and has served in supply chain executive roles in at companies including PricewaterhouseCoopers, according to his LinkedIn page. He joined the University of Arkansas faculty in January 2018.
Fugate holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, an M.B.A in logistics and marketing and a Ph.D. in logistics. He is also the co-editor-in-chief for the Journal of Supply Chain Management.
