President Donald Trump endorsed Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders in a social media post Sunday night.
Sanders is the 47th governor of Arkansas and became the state’s first female governor when she was elected in 2022 with 63 percent of the vote. She previously served as campaign advisor and former press secretary for Trump, and has announced that she will seek re-election in 2026. So far, no other candidate has filed to run for governor in the next cycle. Sanders officially filed for re-election Monday at the Arkansas State Capitol.
On his Truth Social platform, Trump posted:
Sarah Huckabee Sanders is doing an incredible job as Governor of Arkansas, a State I love and WON BIG in 2016, 2020, and 2024!
In my First Administration, Sarah strongly advocated for our America First Agenda as White House Press Secretary. Now, Sarah is a very distinguished and highly respected Governor, who is fighting tirelessly to Protect Arkansas Values, Grow the Economy, Champion our Amazing Farmers and Ranchers, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Cut Taxes and Regulations, Advance American Energy DOMINANCE, Keep our now very Secure Border, SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, Support our Brave Military, Veterans, and Law Enforcement, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election — SHE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN!
Sanders posted Trump’s message on Facebook, writing, “Thank you, President Donald J. Trump! It’s an honor to have your endorsement, and Arkansas stands with you in the fight to Make America Great Again!”
The Sanders re-election campaign last reported $5 million in cash on hand and more than $1 million raised in the third quarter.
