One of the most heavily anticipated new entertainment venues in Arkansas is opening soon. Topgolf has announced that it is opening its Northwest Arkansas location on May 25. Starting at 10 a.m. on Monday, the Rogers location will be open for business and play.
Originally, Topgolf NWA was set to have a grand opening on Friday, March 20. However, the company announced on March 19, via social media, that it was shutting down all of its U.S. venues in response to COVID-19.
The company has reportedly implemented a range of measures to mitigate the potential for COVID-19 transmission at its facilities. These measures include promoting social distancing by limiting hitting bays to six people, separating all hitting bays by 11 feet and adding protective dividers, and disinfecting all golf clubs, golf balls, and screens and other frequently touched surfaces between each playing group.
According to the company’s website, guests will not be required to wear face coverings at Topgolf facilities unless required by state or local orders. However, the company recommends the use of face coverings.
“Here at Topgolf, our purpose has always been to connect people in meaningful ways. While our world has changed, our purpose has not. That’s why we have made changes to ensure that when you return to Topgolf, you play with confidence,” Dolf Berle, Topgolf Entertainment Group CEO, said in a statement.
Topgolf broke ground on the Rogers location in 2019, as Arkansas Money & Politics reported in July of that year. Despite the COVID-19 delay, the company’s estimate of opening in early to mid-2020 has remained largely accurate.
Topgolf NWA will feature 70+ climate-controlled hitting bays with more than 200 high-definition TVs spread throughout the space. It is located at 3919 S. J.B. Hunt Drive in Rogers.
