Arkansas State Treasurer John Thurston has officially announced his campaign for re-election, pledging to continue providing conservative leadership and fiscal responsibility to the office.
A Republican and longtime public servant, Thurston said he is proud of the progress made during his current term and is committed to further strengthening the state’s financial standing.
“Since taking office, I’ve focused on transparency, fiscal responsibility, and safeguarding Arkansans’ hard-earned tax dollars,” Thurston said. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, but there’s more work to be done. I’m running for re-election to ensure that Arkansas continues on a path of financial strength and conservative values.”
Thurston said his priorities include promoting financial literacy, streamlining government operations and maximizing returns on the state’s investments—all while maintaining a commitment to constitutional principles.
“As Treasurer, I’ve never forgotten who I work for—the people of Arkansas,” he said. “They deserve a treasurer who puts principle before politics, and that’s exactly what I intend to continue doing.”
Thurston’s campaign will focus on accountability, transparency and fiscal conservatism, he said, with an emphasis on protecting taxpayer interests.
