Three members of the Arkansas Economic Recovery Task Force will be discussing the state’s effort to reopening the economy and the impact that will have on businesses as part of a virtual roundtable.
On Friday, May 1, Arkansas Secretary of Parks, Heritage and Tourism Secretary Stacy Hurst, Arkansas Department of Commerce Secretary Mike Preston, and Arkansas Department of Agriculture Secretary Wes Ward will take part in a virtual event hosted by The Venture Center. During the roundtable, the three Cabinet secretaries will share their findings and information related to the economy’s reopening.
The Arkansas Economic Recovery Task Force was established by Gov. Asa Hutchinson on April 18 with the directive to develop guidelines for industries to begin the reopening process in a manner consistent with public health requirements. The task force is made up of more than 25 business and community leaders from around the state.
During the task force’s first meeting, chairman Steuart Walton created three committees, which are headed by the Cabinet members. Hurst oversees the committee on tourism, community and healthcare; Preston oversees the commerce committee; and Ward oversees the committee on agriculture, grocery and education.
Wayne Miller, The Venture Center’s executive director, will moderate the virtual discussion. Following the talk, there will be a question and answer session.
The virtual chat will be held Friday, May 1, from 3-4 p.m. Register for the event here.
