The Studio Downtown, located on Oak Street in Conway, will host a ribbon cutting and open house from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. March 12 to celebrate the space’s new ownership and next chapter.
Even though the Studio is under new ownership, it will keep its unique charm and continue to welcome entrepreneurs, small businesses owners, nonprofit leaders and remote workers alike to the shared workspace, according to a press release.
“If the cold, corporate landscape is not for you, the Studio is the place to be,” said new owner Selena Ulasewich. “It offers a warm, creative, artistic vibe and flexible work environment for remote workers and entrepreneurs who need a place to work away from the distractions of home.”
The 8,000-square-foot space is painted in a warm color palette and a disco ball hanging from the ceiling gives an air of fun. The Studio also houses the Central Arkansas Collective Gallery, which is a permanent display of local art available for purchase.
Ulasewich purchased the space in late 2025, but had been a member of the Studio since it opened in 2018. Her business, Impact Coaching and Consulting, was taking off and she needed a more permanent space to meet her clients.
“The Studio quickly became both my office and my community,” she said.
Former owner Kate Carnahan approached Ulasewich about buying the space and felt she would be a great leader for the Studio’s next chapter.
“[Selena] shared my same vision for fostering connection, creativity and small business success right here in Conway,” Carnahan said. “Our members are in very good hands.”
While Ulsaewich’s decision to take over was not immediate, she said talking it through with people helped her realize it was the right next step. She does not have plans to make big changes to the space, but has added two dedicated desks downstairs for members who prefer more private office settings.
She also plans to offer more programming and opportunities for members to connect.
Memberships at the Studio begin at $125 per month and day passes are available for $25. The space is also available for rent on evenings and weekends.
