Riceland Foods’ senior vice president of operations Terry Harris has retired from the company after 45 years of service.
Harris officially retired on Jan. 29, 2021. He began his career with Riceland in 1975, starting as a quality control grader.
Since that time, he rose through the Riceland ranks, serving as vice president of international rice marketing and ultimately as senior vice president of operations.
“Terry will be greatly missed,” Riceland president and CEO Danny Kennedy said in a statement. “He has been a long-standing leader with our cooperative and in the rice industry. I am proud to call him my colleague and friend, and I know Riceland is better today because of his years of service to our farmer members and our employees.”
Ricleand executive vice president and chief operating officer Ben Noble also paid tribute to Harris, calling him the “backbone of the cooperative.”
“Our farmer members respect his point of view and value his opinions, and our staff looks to him as an excellent example of leadership,” Noble said. “He has been a great sounding board for me, as I have grown into my various roles at Riceland. I am grateful for the time I got to spend with and learn from Terry, and he will be missed.”
