Summit Utilities recently appointed Todd Jacobs as its new executive vice president and chief operating officer, bringing 18 years of experience in the energy sector to the company. Jacobs, who will be based in Little Rock, previously served as senior vice president of growth and strategy at Black Hills Corp., where he led operations in Arkansas and Kansas.
Jacobs’ background includes service as an active-duty Army officer and a distinguished academic career, with degrees from the Virginia Military Institute and the University of Missouri-Kansas City, as well as completion of The Executive Program at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
“I am thrilled to return to Arkansas and join the talented team at Summit Utilities,” said Jacobs. “This is an exciting opportunity to build on Summit’s strong foundation and continue advancing a customer-focused approach that ensures reliable, safe and innovative energy solutions.”
Summit President and CEO Kurt Adams expressed confidence in Jacobs’ leadership.
“Todd Jacobs has a proven record of leadership and innovation, particularly in the regions where we operate,” Adams said. “His expertise and commitment to operational excellence will help ensure Summit remains a leader in safely delivering reliable natural gas to all our customers.”
Jacobs succeeds Jason Weekley, who has served as COO since 2018. Adams praised Weekley for his contributions, noting that Summit earned a strong reputation for its safety culture and industry innovation under his leadership.
