Simmons Bank announced Oct. 22 that it was in negotiations with the state to acquire naming rights for the playing surface at Little Rock’s War Memorial Stadium.
Simmons is working with the War Memorial Stadium Commission and the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism on a deal that would rename the playing surface at the stadium, Simmons Bank Field.
“Our partnership with the War Memorial Stadium Commission and Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism, provides the opportunity to honor our veterans and provide upgrades to this historic stadium.” said George Makris, Jr. chairman and CEO of Simmons Bank, in a statement. “It is an honor for Simmons Bank to be a part of War Memorial Stadium’s next chapter.”
Earlier this month, Simmons announced that it was in “advanced negotiations” to become the title sponsor for Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis.
