Republicans’ political messaging over funding the federal government appears to be paying off. The National Republican Congressional Committee, House Republicans’ campaign arm, announced Monday that it had raised almost $13.95 million in September.
The government shutdown has reached its 20th day as Republicans and Democrats bicker over federal spending. Republicans brought in $24 million from July through September. The almost $14 million raised in September alone represents the GOP fundraising arm’s best September in a non-election year and a 50 percent increase over the same month a year ago. The NRCC ended the third quarter with $46 million in cash on hand and $93 million raised in 2025.
NRCC Chair Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC) told Fox News that Republicans were “firing on all cylinders.”
“Our majority funded the federal government, and we’re delivering for working families and building unstoppable momentum heading into 2026,” he said. “With President Trump leading the charge and voters rallying behind our conservative agenda, we’re raising record-breaking resources to hold the House and grow our majority.”
Trump told reporters over the weekend that the shutdown continues because the GOP would not pay “a trillion and a half dollars” to pay for illegal immigrants.
