The Arkansas Opioid Recovery Partnership (ARORP) recently introduced the Sentinel Project, which aims to curb the opioid crisis in Arkansas by supplying key institutions with TruNarc Handheld Narcotics Analyzers. These advanced devices rapidly test suspected narcotics, precursors, and cutting agents, serving as an early warning system for harmful drugs.
ARORP will collaborate with schools, college campuses and law enforcement agencies across the state to implement the project. Data collected from the analyzers will be reported monthly to the Arkansas State Drug Director’s Office, which will release quarterly findings, helping communities better track the presence of opioids and other dangerous substances.
“The Sentinel Project empowers our communities with the tools they need to fight this crisis,” said Kirk Lane, director of ARORP. “With these resources, our frontline organizations will have what they need to effectively respond to the epidemic and help protect the well-being of Arkansans.”
This initiative follows the launch of ARORP’s ReviveAR app, which offers recovery resources and treatment options for opioid addiction.
