Searcy Makes Top 10 Cut for Small Business Revolution Show

Searcy, Arkansas recently made the cut for the top 10 cities for season 4 of Small Business Revolution on Main Street starring Amanda Brinkman and Ty Pennington. After Searcy was chosen in the top 20, several important figures and business leaders came together to talk about the contest.

According to Mat Faulkner, president of Think Idea Studio, the process started in earnest by getting people in the community acquainted with the program, which airs on Hulu. “Most people have not even heard of the Small Business Revolution: Main Street program before, Faulkner says. “So we gave them a preview of some of the episodes so they could see what this was and what it was all about.”

Faulkner submitted the nomination for the city of Searcy. He said that the producers will come to Searcy for a site visit after they make the top 10. There, they will meet with small businesses and city leaders. If Searcy makes the cut to the top 5 it will go to national voting for a week.

“The top community is really based on the top number of votes,” Faulkner says. recently launched their campaign #MySearcy with a video featuring local craftsmen and businesses from the Searcy community.

The Small Business Revolution: Main Street program was created to help small businesses reignite the spark of small towns so people will keep coming back to the city. The winning city and six of its small businesses will be awarded a $500,000 revitalization and will be featured in season 4 of the show. Season 1 featured Wabash, IN; Season 2 featured Bristol Borough, PA; and season 3 featured Alton, IL. For more information on the show, click here.
