An outsourcing facility that provides services to hospital pharmacies is expanding its Little Rock operations. SCA Pharma will be investing $10 million to renovate its existing facility and construct a new facility.
The company plans to renovate its 42,000-square-foot facility located at the Clinton National Airport, as well as construct a new 20,000-square-foot facility next to the existing building. As a result of this expansion, SCA Pharma plans to double its workforce, which currently numbers 180.
“We are very pleased that as we continue our geographical expansions in both Arkansas and Connecticut, we can partner with the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC) and the Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission to solidify and expand the operations of our legacy operations,” Milton Boyer, CEO of SCA Pharma, said in a statement. “Little Rock has been the foundation that has allowed for our other expansion projects, and this project will bolster that foundation for years to come.”
On July 16, SCA Pharma announced its plans to expand its facilities in Windsor, Conn. This expansion will increase the facility by 40 percent to approximately 150,000-square-feet. By expanding the facility, SCA Pharma is planning to add “state-of-the-art automation, compounding capability, and technical employees to manufacture critical medicines,”according to a company release.
Founded in 2010, the Little Rock-based company has specialized in compounded pharmaceutical manufacturing. SCA Pharma is an FDA 503B outsourcing facility.
