Travelers can now enjoy the beauty of art while they wait for their flight, thanks to a partnership between Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the Northwest Arkansas National Airport.
“We’re excited to collaborate with Crystal Bridges to incorporate an iconic piece of Northwest Arkansas’ cultural identity into XNA,” XNA CEO Aaron Burkes said. “This partnership helps create a true sense of place for our passengers and will showcase a premier regional amenity to those who have never been to Northwest Arkansas.”
The satellite gallery, which is just past security near the B gates, will display a rotating selection of artwork from Crystal Bridges’ permanent collection.
Construction on the space has already started and is scheduled to open with a ribbon-cutting event in early summer 2025.
“From the moment visitors step into this gallery, we aim to inspire them — whether they’re arriving in the region for the first time, returning home after a journey, or embarking on a new adventure,” said Rod Bigelow, executive director of Crystal Bridges and the Momentary. “This initiative reinforces our commitment to making art a central part of everyone’s life.”
