Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed an executive order Tuesday requiring each Cabinet-level agency and board or commission that issues permits, licenses, certifications or other regulatory approvals to conduct a review of all processes within 120 days. The order is part of Sanders’ Arkansas Forward initiative.
The order specifically mentions the Department of Agriculture, Department of Energy and Environment, the Department of Labor and Licensing and the Department of Health.
All agencies must submit a written improvement plan to the governor within 180 days, and establish clear, publicly available timelines for all major permits and licenses, develop “one-stop” online applications portals, expand concurrent reviews across agencies and provide applicants with real-time status updates and single points of contact whenever possible.
