The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has named Ryan Anderson as director of communications in the Office of Communications and Marketing.
Anderson comes to UA Little Rock following nearly four years as the state higher education reporter for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, where he covered colleges and universities throughout Arkansas, including UA Little Rock. In his new role, he will lead strategic communications efforts that highlight the university’s students, faculty, research, and impact across the state.
Prior to joining the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, he spent nearly a decade as a newspaper reporter in three states, covering a wide range of beats, with education remaining a consistent focus throughout his career.
“Ryan brings a unique perspective to this role as someone who has spent years telling the stories of higher education,” said Carrie Phillips, chief communications and marketing officer. “He understands what makes a compelling story, values accuracy and authenticity, and already has a deep understanding of UA Little Rock’s mission and impact. We’re excited to welcome him to our team.”
