Centennial Bank is creating a new “one-stop shopping” experience for its banking customers with a new Riverdale facility in Little Rock. The Conway-based bank broke ground on its new Riverdale Commerce Center in late February.
Located at 1031 Rebsamen Park Road, the Commerce Center is a three-story facility measure 24,500 square-feet with plans for a full array of banking amentities to serve the greater Little Rock downtown area.
According to Centennial Bank Market President Gordon Silaski, the center is not a headquarters but will serve as the bank’s hub in central Arkansas.
“This is a forward-looking facility. My staff is more than excited about this. We’ve operated in Little Rock and the surrounding areas of central Arkansas for 20 years without a facility of this nature,” he tells Arkansas Money & Politics. “We basically operated out of our branches. It’s a big investment for the bank, but we think it’s going to propel us forward for the next 20 to 30 years.
The project has been in development for more than three years, allowing for intensive study of other banks’ facilities and the services they offer. In addition to its banking services, the center will also include a community room that will be made available to nonprofits and other organizations during and after regular banking hours.
“We have been working on this project for the last three years,” Silaski says. “Lots of bankers have been involved in this project, and we’ve had the luxury of time and have studied what others have done around the country.”
Centennial Bank officials have announced that the center is expected to open in the spring of 2021 with a projected move-in date of March 2021.
That gives bank officials time to fine-tune the details of the commerce center. Currently, there are no set plans for the full use of the building’s three floors. Silaski says the first two floors will definitely be used for Centennial’s banking services and commercial divisions, but the third floor could be used for a variety of purposes – whether for the bank’s administrative offices or by renting it out.
The new facility was designed by Taggart Architects with Cline Construction Group serving as the builders. Silaski says the center represents an approximately eight-figure investment for Centennial Bank.
According to its company website, Centennial Bank operates more than 160 locations in the United States. The website lists 79 locations in Arkansas, 83 locations in Florida, and one location in New York for a total of 163 Centennial Bank locations
