Following a championship in the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA) Gold Tournament, the University of Arkansas Ice Hockey Club will advance to the regional tournament. The #12-seeded Razorbacks will face #9-seeded Michigan State Friday, Feb. 21, in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
The Razorbacks advanced following a 8-3 victory over top-seeded Maryville University, having previously defeated Wisconsin and Iowa. Arkansas had finished the regular season with a three-game sweep of Oklahoma State.
Senior goaltender Grady Reis was named MACHA’s tournament MVP.
“Our team has battled through adversity all season, and we’re peaking at the right time,” said Reis. “I’m confident in the guys in front of me, and we’re ready to take on Michigan State.”
“We’re playing our best hockey of the season right now,” Head Coach Keller Sims said. “We’re excited for the opportunity to compete at Regionals. Michigan State is a strong program, but we’re confident in our ability to rise to the challenge.”
The winner of this game will advance to the next round with a shot at securing a berth in the national tournament. Fans can catch the action live on FloHockey TV. For more updates and coverage, follow the Razorbacks on social media and visit arhockeyclub.com.
