What is National Drive Electric Week?

With manufacturers announcing plans for more than 120 electric vehicle (EV) models, ranging from economy to luxury class available for purchase by 2020, and he growing annual EV sales in the United States, electric vehicles are on their way to becoming the new normal.

With some anxiety still surrounding EVs, such as range anxiety and cabin size, National Drive Electric Week was founded based on the belief that potential electric vehicle (EV) consumers need to hear directly from experienced drivers and see the benefits of quiet, clean, zero-emission vehicles up close. Event participants ask and answer questions, connect with other EV owners and hear from event sponsors – ranging from auto manufacturers to environmental organizations.

For the second year in a row, Today’s Power, The City of Little Rock Office of Sustainability and the Arkansas Clean Cities Coalition has partnered to host Central Arkansas’ Drive Electric Week Event. From massive electric vehicle displays to ride and drive and financing education for electric vehicles, people from across the state can experience the benefits of electric vehicles first hand.

These ride & drives, driver chats, and educational opportunities give electric vehicle drivers the chance to showcase the value and benefits of electric vehicles as not just clean technology, but fun to drive and increasingly popular.

Event Details

National Drive Electric Week, held September 14-22, is a nationwide celebration to heighten awareness of today’s widespread availability of plug-in vehicles and highlight the benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid-electric cars, trucks, motorcycles and more. They are fun to drive, less expensive and more convenient to fuel than gasoline vehicles, are better for the environment, promote local jobs, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Are you considering going electric? Come talk to owners who have successfully done so.
