Pulaski Academy announced Wednesday afternoon that it would close for the rest of the week after a parent who is a physician self-reported to the school that she had been in contact with a patient in Pine Bluff who had tested presumptive positive for the coronavirus.
Headmaster Matt Walsh sent out an email to PA parents announcing the decision. The physician’s second-grade student was picked up from school Wednesday, and the family then entered a 14-day period of self-quarantine, he wrote.
“Out of an abundance of caution, PA will be closed for the rest of the week as we clean and disinfect our campus,” the email said. Once the decision was made, all students were kept in their classrooms until dismissal time on Wednesday.
Walsh said more information regarding the closing would be forthcoming.
