Pediatrics Plus has expanded its footprint in Northwest Arkansas with the opening of its newest Farm campus in Elm Springs, bringing its outdoor, play-based pediatric therapy model to families in the Greater Springdale area.
The Arkansas-based pediatric therapy provider celebrated the grand opening Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, open house and Special Needs Resource Fair, welcoming community members to tour the campus, meet therapists and connect with local organizations that support children and families.
The Elm Springs campus is the organization’s second Farm location in Northwest Arkansas, joining Rogers, and is modeled after similar campuses in Bryant, Cabot, Conway and Searcy.
Designed to combine therapy with hands-on learning, the campus features a working farmhouse, barn, chicken coop and greenhouse where children participate in activities such as caring for animals, gardening, harvesting produce and exploring sensory-friendly outdoor spaces. The experiences are incorporated into occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech-language therapy and applied behavior analysis services to help children build confidence, independence and everyday life skills.
“As an Arkansas company with deep roots in the Natural State, we are proud to bring our innovative therapy model to Springdale and expand our services to even more families in Northwest Arkansas,” said Scott Street, CEO of Pediatrics Plus. “This location allows us to increase access to care while meeting families where they are. We believe children learn best when they can explore, engage and grow through meaningful experiences, and that’s exactly what The Farm is designed to provide. We are also excited to have Spanish-speaking team members at this location who can help families navigate the enrollment process and connect with available services and resources.”
Elm Springs Mayor Harold Douthit said the new campus reflects the city’s commitment to supporting children and families.
“There’s nothing more important than setting the next generation up for success, and when businesses like Pediatrics Plus choose Elm Springs, we are upholding a promise to all who live here that we put our community first,” said Mayor Douthit. “I am excited for the addition of The Farm and the impact it will have for years to come.”
The resource fair featured organizations including Autism Involves Me (AIM), Down Syndrome Connection of Northwest Arkansas, Community Connections, Perspectability, Williams Syndrome Association, the Arkansas Department of Human Services, the Department of Developmental Disabilities and Total Medical.
Bill Rogers, president and CEO of the Springdale Chamber of Commerce, said the new campus represents another investment in the region’s children.
“Pediatrics Plus is another example of an outstanding Arkansas-based organization investing in children and families,” said Rogers. “When businesses and community partners come together to support children from an early age, entire communities benefit. We are excited to welcome Pediatrics Plus to the area and look forward to the positive impact The Farm will have on families throughout Northwest Arkansas.”
