Thanks to contributions from families, charitable foundations and supporters across the state, the Arkansas TV Foundation announced that the PBS Dues Fund has reached its goal for Fiscal Year 2027. Following the milestone, Friends of Arkansas PBS Co-chairs Gay White and Barbara Pryor released a statement celebrating the achievement and thanking those who helped make it possible.
We are thrilled with today’s announcement that the Arkansas TV Foundation has raised the funds to keep PBS on the air in Arkansas next year. We are so appreciative of the Arkansas TV Commission for pausing disaffiliation and giving Arkansans a chance to work together to save this valuable programming. In less than three short months, Arkansans have shown the world that issues can be solved by kindness and generosity.
We would like to extend our gratitude to Governor Sanders for her support, to the anonymous Arkansas funder who kickstarted the PBS Dues Fund, to the Walton Family Foundation, Schueck Family Foundation, Tyson Family Foundation, Roy and Christine Sturgis Charitable and Educational Trust, and Elaine and Claiborne Deming for their three-year commitments to the fund. And a final sincere thanks to Judy and Randy Wilbourn, the Knight Foundation, and the more than 1,500 other households, businesses, and foundations donating across all 75 counties in Arkansas.
