Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) has received a $2 million donation from Lynn and Don Parker and their children to support its expansion project. The Parker family, long-time supporters of Arkansas Children’s, have also committed an additional $1 million planned gift to the ACH Jonesboro Clinic. This marks their second $1 million donation to the clinic, following a similar contribution in 2019.
The $318 million expansion project, announced in 2023, aims to enhance ACH’s capacity and capabilities. The project will increase bed capacity, improve surgical approaches with a new ambulatory center, redesign clinical spaces for multidisciplinary care and create a more accessible campus. To date, donors have contributed $12.1 million towards the $253.2 million goal for the ACH expansion.
“Arkansas Children’s served 180,000 children last year — more children than ever before,” said Marcy Doderer, president and CEO of Arkansas Children’s. “The expansion will increase access to pediatric care, enhance outcomes and elevate patient experience on both hospital campuses.”
Lynn Parker, a board member of the Arkansas Children’s Foundation since 2018, highlighted the family’s dedication to ensuring children receive top-tier health care.
“Our family firmly believes every child deserves access to the best health care available,” she said. “We are honored to support Arkansas Children’s in its life-saving mission.”
Fred Scarborough, executive vice president and chief development officer at Arkansas Children’s, expressed gratitude to the Parker family.
“Their volunteerism and philanthropy have helped sustain, strengthen and expand the advanced levels of medicine required for the children of Arkansas and beyond,” he said. “We are thrilled to have their support for the most comprehensive expansion project in our 112-year history.”
