Oaklawn Racing Season to Begin Dec. 12

The 2025-26 thoroughbred racing season will begin on Friday, Dec. 12, at Oaklawn Hot Springs.

It will run through Saturday, May 2, 2026, with the Arkansas Derby, one of the nation’s top Kentucky Derby prep races, scheduled for March 28, 2026.

Oaklawn’s traditional Corned Beef Sandwich Day will be held Saturday, Dec. 13, where patrons can get two corned beef sandwiches and a soft drink for $1.

Other featured race days include Smarty Jones Day, Jan. 3; Southwest Day, Jan. 31; Rebel Day, March 1; Fantasy Stakes Day, March 27; Apple Blossom Day, April 11; and Oaklawn Handicap Day, April 18.

The track is currently open for simulcasts Thursday through Sunday, starting at 11 a.m.
