Entrepreneurs and innovators will converge on downtown Fayetteville this weekend for the Northwest Arkansas Startup Weekend. The premiere networking experience will take place March 9 – 11, at the Brewer Family Entrepreneurship Hub.
The event is organized through Techstars Startup Weekends, which are designed to provide experiential education for up-and-coming entrepreneurs over the course of three days. On Friday night, participants will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas and form teams with fellow innovators.
Participants will continue through the weekend, brainstorming, developing business plans and creating prototypes. The weekend event culminates on Sunday night with final presentations, judging and awards.
According to a press release for the event, participants create working startups during the event and are able to collaborate with like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks. Teams will receive instruction from industry leaders and advice from a number of established, local entrepreneurs.
Speakers scheduled for the Northwest Arkansas Startup Weekend include Clete Brewer, managing director of NewRoad Ventures, Chad Williamson, co-founder of Noble Impact, and Corey Boelkens, founder and CEO of RaftUp Technologies Inc.
Event judges include Nicholas Dozier of ATLAS Technology Group, Lauren Stokes of Lauren James, Joe Payne of RevUnit and Jeff Amerine of Startup Junkie. More than 20 coaches and mentors, from a number of local businesses, will be made available to participants.
