Little Rock will soon have another medical marijuana dispensary, Native Green Wellness, for patients by the end of this year.
According to owners Walter Koon and Kattie Hansen, the new dispensary will be at 3720 Cantrell Road.
“The location that we have selected for Native Green in Little Rock is going to be the perfect place for us to serve all of central Arkansas and those that make the drive in. Everyone is familiar with Cantrell Road,” Koon told Arkansas Money & Politics. “It is easy to find and we are utilizing every square inch of the facility, which is close to 3,000 square-feet, to make sure we are bringing to Little Rock and to all the patients of Arkansas the largest variety of cannabis medicine and the best cannabis experience the state has to offer.”
Hansen, Koon’s daughter, said that the store is hoping to open at the end of November or beginning of December. Furthermore, the plan is to hire 25 to 30 employees to get started. There will be online and delivery services available for patients as well.
“The goal is to educate and welcome all patients in hopes to create a superior customer service experience. We are building from the ground up and designing a retail space that will meet the different needs of patients,” Hansen said. “We are expecting to serve anywhere from 300 to 400 patients per day, so the focus will really be centered around their wants and needs. The delivery services will be available as soon as we open because we know a lot of patients might not be able to get out and need that option.”
Two years ago, Hansen became more educated and involved with the medical marijuana industry after seeking alternative treatments for family members.
“I have had family members who suffer from opiate and alcohol abuse. It seemed like the best option available to my family members and probably to other people who are looking for other options of treatment,” she said. “I have noticed that more individuals are turning to cannabis instead of opiates. It’s really becoming a movement in terms of breaking the stigma against cannabis as an evil substance and trying to show the benefits of it as a medication to change lives for the better.”
Native Green Wellness will have highly-trained and educated coaches to help patients select the best products to provide relief.
“It can be an overwhelming process for those individuals who have never used cannabis. We will have detailed patient journals that lay out a self-assessment and information on safe usage, product dosing, intake methods and more. It is important that we also have a relationship with the patients and stay updated on what works and what doesn’t work for them as an individual.”
