Missio Capital and Newell Development are partnering to develop MidCity Commons, a planned 185-unit multifamily community located immediately south of Walmart’s global headquarters campus in Bentonville. Vertical construction on the project is expected to begin in January, and the first completed units will be ready in 2027, according to a press release.
Missio, which has offices in Austin, Dallas and Fayetteville, will serve as the managing member of the venture, leading all construction and development efforts in partnership with Bentonville-based Newell. First Security Bank is providing construction financing for the project.

Missio sourced the development opportunity through a local broker relationship with Colliers Arkansas and its NWA director of capital markets, Pat Dickinson.

The community will feature a mix of studios, one bedrooms, and two bedrooms, ranging from approximately 500 to 1,000 square feet and will include best-in-class amenities to enhance quality of life and foster community connection. Those amenities include a resort-style pool, outdoor grills and seating areas, a pickleball court, a dog park, resident lounges, co-working spaces, Luxor package lockers, bicycle storage and more. A 2,000 square foot commercial space will also be included at the north end of the development near the intersection of SE 28th Street and SE John Rollow Drive.
