Arkansas motorists may notice more military vehicles on interstates and highways beginning Friday, May 29, as National Guard troops travel across the state for annual training exercises.
According to officials, convoys will continue moving through Arkansas roadways through June 15 as troops travel from local armories to Fort Chaffee Joint Maneuver Training Center in Barling.
The military convoys will include large tactical vehicles traveling at slower speeds than normal highway traffic, which could create temporary slowdowns in some areas. Drivers may experience the most congestion near the rear of convoys, especially when vehicles attempt to pass.
