Tech firm Metova, Inc. announced July 30 that it will add 100 new jobs at its downtown Conway office.
Metova creates apps along with strategy, design, development and marketing for companies including Yelp, Dropbox, eHarmony, Flixster and Microsoft. It is expanding to meet the demands of the rapidly growing mobile, web and IoT (Internet of Things) space, and for significant new business in the digital media industry.
The company opened its offices in January 2015, and initially projected adding 60 jobs to the area, but growth has led to the need for more employees.
Needed positions include developers with strengths in Ruby on Rails, Java web and mobile app development, and talented UX and UI designers.
“We are looking for developers who are excellent problem solvers with superior communication skills to work in our unique culture while enjoying the quality of life Conway offers,” said Metova CEO John Adams. “Our business is thriving and we’re proud to offer a total of 160 cutting-edge opportunities to developers right here in Arkansas.”
Metova has also hired Ed Horton, the former chief marketing officer and senior vice president of business development at Acxiom and Vestcom.
“The fact Metova is announcing a second expansion in 2015 is a testament to the importance of our new computer coding initiative in Arkansas schools,” Gov. Hutchinson said in a news release from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. “When we nurture technology companies like Metova, they create job opportunities that keep Arkansas’ brightest minds in the state. Conway has developed a reputation as a hub for knowledge-based companies and that reputation continues to grow as a result of today’s announcement.”
