The city of Cabot presented the community’s new marketing design at the city council meeting Monday, a press release states. The marketing includes a new logo, a blocky, multicolored C featuring various elements that speak to Cabot’s community amenities, as well as the tagline, “It’s all here.”
Branding consultant Thrive helped develop the concept through brand discovery, brand identity and brand application. The design also received input from community workshops where a diverse group of stakeholders came together to strategize goals, understand Cabot’s identity and decipher the vision for the future of the community.
The feedback informed the creation of a creative brief summary document that helped guide the direction for artwork, design color, typography, iconography and imagery. While developing the marketing, the Cabot Design Committee worked to cultivate a consensus of design direction and a shared understanding of opinion, voice and brand intention.
Now that the final design and tagline are approved, the logo will be used for overall marketing for the entire city, regional tourism, economic development and advertising.
Cabot’s reputation as a community of choice has put the city in a position to evaluate how it is perceived by potential residents, visitors and employers. Historically thought of as a rural community, Cabot is regionally recognized for its economic growth and prosperity.
Understanding that perception, the press release states, the city is working to rewrite the narrative and guide the community toward a future that is less monolithic, more inclusive and embraces one of the city’s best attributes – the welcoming kindness of its residents.
The new visual identity is set to provide Cabot leaders, volunteers and residents with a unifying element and the opportunity to present the community’s potential to the region with consistency and vibrancy.
Many specific elements come together to create the overall design of a C made of several gray and multicolored blocks divided by white lines. Incorporated elements include:
- a city street grid that references downtown Cabot and its commerce, as well as Cabot’s history as an important transportation hub;
- inward arrows that reinforce the concept that Cabot is an energetic hub that includes everything families and businesses need, in addition to referencing Arkansas’ diamond symbol and the city’s prominent athletic facilities;
- a building-block construction that symbolizes Cabot’s growing infrastructure and residents’ work to build an even greater city;
- various colored arrows that symbolize the many unique communities and individuals in Cabot who collaborate to build a future together;
- the colors of Cabot Red for agriculture, evening sky for small business, greenway for recreation, and aquatic for families; and
- an overall color palette that references the natural and built environment of Cabot while also signifying a vibrant, energetic and friendly community.
Taken together, the elements of the logo underscore the city’s new tagline, “It’s all here,” which is set to serve as the proud message of a community that is assured of its place and importance.
