Market Place Pharmacy will be able to make its own compound drugs in-house after a sterile facility is created, co-owner Robert Maltby said.
The pharmacy, located at 11316 Huron Lane in Little Rock, is still a year or two out from building the facilities, but Maltby said his goal is to be able to make bioidentical hormones in-house.
Maltby said the space would consist of two sterile rooms and would allow them to make the hormones there.
Compounding drugs allow pharmacies to make drugs similar to ones that are in short supply, as well as sell drugs at a lower price than the ones on the market.
