Junior League of Little Rock recently announced its intention to sell its historic headquarters building at 401 S. Scott St. Mary DeLoney Logan, president, said the organization is currently assembling a committee of active and sustaining members to guide the building transition. She added that she expects more details to be released this summer.Â
“Junior League of Little Rock has spent 25 wonderful years caring for our historic headquarters building downtown,” she said. “It’s now time for our organization to shift its focus back out into the Little Rock community so that we may better address the needs of its women and children. It’s our sincere hope that through the future sale of our headquarters building, we are able to better utilize our talents and resources to continue to have a meaningful impact on the Little Rock community for many years to come.”
According to its website, Junior League purchased the building in 2001. Designed by Little Rock architect Theo Sanders, the structure was built in 1910 and was home to the Elks Lodge 29 before being purchased by the Woman’s City Club in 1927. Over the years, it has hosted numerous events for Junior League and other organizations.Â
