Citizens Bank has promoted Alan Jessup to executive vice president and chief operating officer, expanding his leadership responsibilities as the bank continues to position itself for long-term growth.
Jessup joined Citizens Bank in 2025 as executive vice president and director of specialty lending. In his new role, he will continue overseeing the bank’s risk and specialty lending divisions while also assuming responsibility for operations.
As part of the organizational realignment, the bank’s loan assistant group will transition from the lending division to operations, a move designed to strengthen collaboration between departments and improve day-to-day efficiency across the organization.
“Alan’s leadership, experience and community banking mindset make him the right person to help guide this next phase of operational alignment,” said Jeff Teague, chairman and CEO of Citizens Bank. “Since joining Citizens Bank, Alan has demonstrated a strong commitment to collaboration, sound risk management and our People First culture. Expanding his role will help us strengthen how our teams work together while supporting disciplined advancement and exceptional service for our customers.”
Jessup brings more than three decades of banking experience to the position. Throughout his career, he has helped community and regional banks drive growth, improve operational efficiency, strengthen risk management and build specialty lending programs.
In his expanded role, Jessup will help lead Citizens Bank’s efforts to enhance organizational effectiveness while supporting the bank’s commitment to personalized service and community banking.
“I am honored to step into this broader leadership role and to further collaborate with a team that values people, relationships and progress,” Jessup said. “Citizens Bank has a strong culture and a clear commitment to serving customers and communities well. I look forward to strengthening our alignment across our teams and supporting the strategic work ahead.”
Jessup lives in Saline County with his wife, Dione, and their family. He currently serves on the Saline County Planning Board and is also a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy.
The promotion comes as Citizens Bank continues to expand its specialty lending services. The bank launched Citizens Bank Mortgage in June 2025, offering a range of home financing options, while continuing its longstanding focus on poultry lending. Its equipment finance team also provides financing solutions for businesses across a variety of industries.
