J.B. Hunt Transport Services recently received a Cold Carrier certification from the International Refrigerated Transportation Association (IRTA).
Established in 1994, the International Refrigerated Transportation Association (IRTA) is an advocacy group for the refrigerated and transportation logistics industry. The Cold Carrier Certification is designed to spotlight companies that follow the IRTA’s Best Practices Guides.
“We are proud to welcome J.B. Hunt to an elite group of Certified Cold Carriers,” says GCCA President and CEO Corey Rosenbusch, CAE, IOM. “By earning this first-of-its-kind certification, J.B. Hunt differentiates itself from its competitors and shows its dedication to best practices in keeping food safe during transport.”
The certification was launched in June 2019 with a pilot group of seven companies, including J.B. Hunt Transport Services. The six other companies include FFE Transportation Services, Great Plains Transport, KeHE, Midwest Refrigerated Services, Trailiner and WEL Companies.
“This certification displays our commitment to the safe transportation of our nation’s food supply and represents the hard work and attention to detail our drivers and personnel provide on a daily basis,” Greer Woodruff, senior vice president of safety, security, and driver personnel at J.B. Hunt, said in a statement “That is something I am very proud to say is the center of our company’s culture.”
