J.B. Hunt Transport Services is partnering with Google on a multi-year strategic alliance to accelerate the development of next-generation supply chain technology.
Using Google Cloud technology, J.B. Hunt aims to expand its J.B. Hunt 360 platform, which allows the company to digitally connect shipments and manage capacity. The 360 platform is designed to increase efficiencies by centralizing data from supply chain, capacity, pricing and transportation systems.
“Joining forces with Google was a natural fit, considering both companies’ histories of trailblazing and industry disruption,” J.B. Hunt president and CEO John Roberts said in a statement. “Power J.B. Hunt 360 on Google Cloud will help drive us forward in our mission to create the most efficient transportation network in North America. This alliance is groundbreaking in our industry and we expect it will produce innovative solutions meeting transportation and logistics needs. This is an exciting time for our organization and those we serve, as we launch this initiative alongside Google.”
Through this initiative, J.B. Hunt engineers will adopt Google Cloud’s Anthos model to develop a consistent operations experience across platforms. The Lowell-based company will also use Google Cloud’s Data Cloud to create workflows that are driven by data analytics and artificial intelligence.
