International House of Pancakes, better known as IHOP, has set a goal of hiring 10,000 new employees in the coming months in 2021.
The California-based restaurant chain announced that it be making the thousands of hires across its more than 1,600 franchised locations. These hires will be for both full-time and part-time positions.
According to the IHOP corporate website, the company has 15 IHOP restaurants in Arkansas. There are two in Little Rock and one each in Benton, Bryant, Cabot, Conway, Fayetteville, Fort Smith, Hot Springs, Jonesboro, North Little Rock, Rogers, Russellville, Searcy and Texarkana.
“With the country reopening and states lifting mandates, we see a restaurant renaissance on the horizon, and ensuring our restaurants are staffed and equipped is one of our top priorities,” IHOP president Jay Johns said in a statement. “We pride ourselves on providing guests with our unique brand of IHOSPITALITY and welcome all applicants who are excited at the prospect of offering ‘service with a smile’ while growing their own careers.”
IHOP will be holding a National Recruiting Day event on Wednesday, May 19 to drum up interest in the campaign. Additional details are expected to be shared in the coming weeks on IHOP’s social media.
This hiring goal comes as the United States continues the process of opening up as COVID-19 vaccinations increase. More restaurants are opening their doors for dine-in service, including in Arkansas.
However, the food and restaurant industry has been struggling to find new workers. Media reports have indicated that Arkansas restaurants have had difficulty in filling available food service roles.
